Using React/GatsbyJS, GraphQL, and Drupal to build blazing-fast static website

Static site generators have become increasingly popular in the past few years. Various frameworks such as Jekyll and Gatsby are taking center stage for their focus on generating super fast static sites that can be hosted and served efficiently at a low cost. GatsbyJS is an incredible static site generator that uses React, Webpack, and GraphQL to render static content on the web. Content is written as React components and is rendered at build time to the DOM as static HTML, CSS and JavaScript files. It truly has all the benefits expected in a modern web application.

In this talk, we’ll look at some of the reasons why Bluecadet chooses a static publishing solution for some of our projects. We’ll cover the basics of Gatsby.js, and how to pull data from a headless Drupal site. In addition, we'll be looking at how to use GraphQL to query markdown data into your static site.
