Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather sessions (or BOFs) are informal gatherings of like-minded individuals who wish to discuss a certain topic without a pre-planned agenda. BOFs allow groups to meet and discuss issues relating to regular conference sessions and talk out common problems facing the community.

Have fun and learn! BOFs exist to provide attendees with an inclusive, informal environment in which to share ideas freely. BOFs can be serious, and a great way to gather the people you’ve been working remotely with on a project in a space to deep dive on a topic, but they can also be fun as well. Knitting BOF? Why not?!

Code Sprints, Labs, & Workshops

sprint is a get-together for focused work on a project. Sprints are an important part of Drupal's growth, and are also a great opportunity to get involved, because others are on hand to help you contribute.  Come and collaborate in person with other Drupal community members! Although Drupaldelphia does not have a formal code sprint scheduled for the day, attendees are welcome to start a dedicated sprint up for an hour or two.  Be sure to add your sprint to the BOFs and Sprints whiteboard so we can tweet it out and update on this page.

Drupaldelphia's labs and workshops are chances to have one-on-one or small group consultation and/or training.

  • Drupal/Composer help desk - devs will be on hand to help people install, troubleshoot, etc. [All Day]
  • Community Give Back - contributors will help people make their first contribution - whether it be a commit, resolution/answer to a question, or improving existing documentation (within an hour). If you haven't already, we'll help you sign up/register for a Drupal.org and/or Stack Exchange profile. [All Day]
  • Accessibility Lab - get a cursory accessibility scan/review of your site; learn how to interpret the findings and identify possible fixes. [Afternoon].
  • Career Launch & Migrate workshop - even if you're not actively looking, take advantage of polishing up your resume, having it reviewed, and talk about common interview questions/strategies for that eventual next move!  Speak to recruiters and hiring managers about your career aspirations, without the guilt of pursuing an actual job interview. [All Day]
